<image:caption>I really enjoy drawing in retro/vintage styles, i must admit i haven’t studied their styles enough for me to replicate authentically, but i do have a gander at it when the opportunity arises. This One Piece artwork that i could never agree on a title for whether it was Kaizoku, Luffy vs Kaido, Pirate King, or simply Monkey D. Luffy, was quite the ride, i first started by researching old japanese art and paintings, going deep into the Ukiyo-e art style and other Edo Period drawings and eventually deciding to have Hokusai as the base of my inspiration for this artwork, i decided to take a direct scene from the One Piece Manga where they started sailing to Onigashima in the Wano Country Arc and wanted throw in a bunch of things at it, as i write this, the fight between Luffy & Kaido has yet to be concluded and drawing both of them fighting with the great wave off kanagawa as part of the artwork was just a blast, i could not think of a better way to draw a vintage One Piece artwork, the roaring seas, the Kaido dragon transformation, Monkey D. Luffy in gear 4th, Onigashima in the background, it all just came together well, i even made sure to draw Kaido the same way they used to depict dragons in the Edo Period, while still resembling how he looks in the One Piece Manga. I did feel like i was ripping off Hokusai’s work to a degree, but it’s more of a tribute rather than me simply copying his works, even in the One Piece manga Eiichiro Oda had made quite a few tributes to old japanese paintings and Hokusai himself.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Also titled “Ghosts of Lavender Town”. I have always loved Pokemon but i never made any Pokemon fan art, so i decided to create a Pokemon poster or print and have it revolving around my favorite Pokemon type (ghost type) and my boy Gengar (that smile, that damn smile), creating a composition around Lavender Town, the Gengar Pokemon evolution from Ghastly, Haunter to Gengar, and throwing some ghost Pokemon to fill some space felt like a cool idea, i have to admit though, the color palette could have been better, matter of fact i did a 5 color version for screen printing and it turned out much better. I hope i did my boy Gengar proud, i still have other Pokemon art ideas, but my motivation isn’t huge because they are almost impossible to license.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - The Mandalorian Art Deco</image:title>
<image:caption>I personally was never a fan of Star Wars, sue me, was never my cup of tea, however, i did watch The Mandalorian and i kind of fell in love with the show, the bounty hunter Mando, the child Grogu, the baby yoda memes, i had to create some Mandalorian art, but i was never one to follow trends, if anything they often made me lose interest. So, a few weeks after watching the second season of The Mandalorian an art challenge pops up with the Art Deco theme, and i get this idea, the mandalorian + Art Deco = the manDECOrian, ingenius? maybe i don’t know, so i took inspiration from the cover art of The Great Gatsby novel and created this Mandalorian poster design, threw in the iconic Mando helmet, the child/baby yoda (Grogu?) in his cute floating pod and some imperial TIE/Line starfighters, and oh yes, a random Death Star in the background. I made many baby yoda artworks/memes inspired by The Mandalorian, but this is the only art worth showing. A Mandalorian poster design i am proud of.</image:caption>

I truly enjoyed drawing the background which was the citadel of Ricks even though it was not intentional as the artwork wasn’t supposed to contain a background to begin with. Evil Morty and Cop Morty were just some fan favorite additions, i usually tend to be more niche in my drawings.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - The Fake Vat of Acid Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>The poster design i made that was inspired by the Emmy winning episode the Vat of Acid from Rick & Morty season 4, i loved everything in the episode, especially the moment where Rick says “oh there were consequences” and the music suddenly becomes serious, the entire direction of it was marvelous. The composition for this artwork was inspired by a portal gun poster design made by Ian Glaubinger, i liked the simplicity of his work, the minimalism behind it, so i tried to create something similar and i was glad with the end result.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Dota 2 Arcana</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the biggest mysteries of my existence was how do i have 2-3 thousand hours played in Dota 2, but i never made any artwork or Fan Art for the game, maybe because the game is extremely toxic so i don’t have much fond memories of it, maybe it’s a love hate relationship, but alas here we have it, a Dota 2 artwork i created after the release of the battlepass for the international 10. I decided to make a Dota 2 artwork revolving around the Arcanas and Personas in the game, while there weren’t many of them at the making of this artwork a few were just introduced and they keep making them every year so why not, i started with the Queen of Pain arcana that was just released that year and added some fan favorites like the Windranger arcana and Pudge persona, the background for this artwork while not clearly visible is Terrorblade gazing at his own twisted reflection in Foulfell, the Anti-Mage and Invoker personas were basically added for meme purposes. Now the decision not to include any facial features was because well, i tried with and without, it looked better without, i was also working on a very small digital canvas even though i don’t recall why.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Water Lilies</image:title>
<image:caption>Most of my motivation and inspiration arises from Video Games and TV Shows or Movies, however every once in a while i like to use photographs to create some original work or just to practice using some tools or to try out a different style. I used a photograph of a woman wearing a dress floating in water to create this, i was testing out creating illustrations without the use of outlines, which isn’t something i am used to, i added some water lilies and Koi fish to the composition as i wanted to portray a lady floating on the surface of a Koi pond, i was attempting to show a somber feeling, a sort of surrealism while maintaining minimalism.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A design i made inspired by the old man and the seat episode from Rick & Morty season 4, i just loved the scene depicted in it, the relaxation, the quietness, just the entire mood of it, the personal space while referring to his “private pooping” place also refers to the interdimensional cable episode of Rick & Morty</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Studio Ghibli Adventures</image:title>
<image:caption>Mainly inspired by the train scene from Spirited Away, i wanted to create a Studio Ghibli artwork with a number of characters that i liked in the Ghibli universe, a sort of a mashup of my favorite characters in a minimalistic way, so i had drawn the train, cut it down a notch because i didn’t want the artwork to be 4000 pixels wide and only 1000 pixels high and added in some shenanigans, the line art was extremely minimal and even the size of the artwork wasn’t that big, few creative decisions i had to contemplate was whether to draw a reflection or not, and whether to keep the plant/flower pattern or remove it as it logically doesn’t make sense for a moving train, but anyways this was the end result for this piece that i title “Ghibli Adventure”. Featured in this artwork are No Face, Chihiro Ogino & Haku from Spirited Away, Satsuki Kusakabe & Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke from, well … Princess Mononoke, Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service, Sophie Hatter & Turnip Head from Howl's Moving Castle (i wanted to fit in Howl in bird form but couldn’t find a place for him), Arriety from The Secret World of Arrietty, Sheeta from Castle in the Sky and last but not least Princess Kaguya from The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and Porco Rosso flying on his famous plane. I could have just kept going to be frank as i love all of Studio Ghibli’s movies, their attention to detail and the Ghibli art style in itself, but i had to remind myself i am aiming for minimalism and a quick project.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Castlevania and Dracula's Castle</image:title>
<image:caption>Titled at one point as Castles und Vampires as a joke (i say at one point but matter of fact it still is somewhere), this Castlevania fan art was something i created after watching the Netflix show inspired by the classic Castlevania platformer from the 80s, maybe the 90s, there were many additions to the game series anyhow, the Castlevania symphony of the night remains the fan favorite however, and for good reasons, it’s an amazing game. Anyways, i am getting side tracked here, i wasn’t much of a Castlevania fan even though i love platformers and dark/gloomy games in general, but after watching the Netflix show i started getting deep into the genre and read up on how it all started, the true legacy behind the IP, what inspired it, what games were inspired by it, and just a lot of lore really. After reading up on it so much, watching the show a couple of times, seeing the old games, the lore, the art, i just had to create something as sort of a tribute, and because i did not want to reinvent the wheel, i just used the art style of the show for the characters instead of driving inspiration from old concept art of the games. The bats swarming was something i took from the intro of the show, and the rest was just random composition of the Castlevania characters and Dracula’s Castle.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - HONK Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>The goose, that damn goose, it basically started as a meme, i wanted to create some fan art for the Untitled Goose Game, i loved the minimal art style of the game and the ridiculousness of it, not to mention the amount of memes that it created, so i wanted to create some “meme art” if you would like to call it, i already noticed a bunch of artists have done a lot of fan art for the untitled goose game, and a few even did the same as me with using the Obama Hope poster style, however, none of them felt just right, not to take anything away from them as art is subjective, i just felt like it needed something “more” so i tried my hand at the style and ended up with this, honestly, considering this was my first attempt at the infamous style created by Shepard Fairey, i got lost a little, even ended up with 3 versions of this poster, i do like how it turned up however. So here we are, i have a HONK poster featuring a classy goose as part of my portfolio, that’s just so me, i am driven most of the time by memes and ridiculous ideas, and the untitled goose game memes were something else.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - 20 Minutes Adventure</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most famous Rick & Morty memes, the 20 minutes adventure, in this illustration i was trying out a retro vibe, testing out minimalism and still being lame by adding fan favorite characters like mr.meeseeks, say what you will, i don’t like trendy things. First draft of this Rick & Morty fan art had “let’s go on adventure” written instead of this, but it didn’t feel like something that would be said in the show, too cheerful, so i opted for this instead. Also, the reason Mr.Meeseeks is smiling is because existence is pain and he should be happy to die, it’s the little things.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - A Night in Night City</image:title>
<image:caption>One of my very few original artworks, if we can even call them that as most of my art is fan art and even when not are heavily inspired, for this piece, i want to create some cyberpunk art, i love the genre, watched an hour long documentary on how it was formed, and have now a bunch of books on my reading list like Neuromancer and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. So, like anything when it comes to me creating art, i don’t just scrabble anything on a sketchbook, it just doesn’t work with me, i like to be authentic when doing or creating something, so proper research needed to be done, and i had to drive inspiration from “something” as the genre in itself was, well, also based on something after all, like the books i just mentioned, so it began the composition time, had to ask myself, what is cyberpunk? what is punk really? what material or resources can i drive from that will give me an authentic look at the genre, for that question i was left with a number of media, Cyberpunk 2077, Akira, Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, and a bunch of old cyberpunk concept art by the likes of Syd Mead. Ruiner also made the cut, but that inspiration you would probably notice more in the full version of this artwork. After gathering all the source material i can take inspiration from i started the composition, the dimly lit street was an idea i got from a pre-release screenshot of Cyberpunk 2077, the Cyberpunk car design was inspired by an Arasaka vehicle also from Cyberpunk 2077, the bike is a custom-made BMW R9T motorcycle rebuilt by the Zillers Garage at a Moscow Motorcycle Show, the Cyberpunk character/solo draws inspiration from the maelstrom gang from cyberpunk 2077 and how heavily modified by cybernetics they are. There are a few Akira, Cyberpunk 2077, and Ghost in the Shell easter eggs i added as stickers and drawings on the bike, to be frank i wanted to do even more, but i wanted the cyberpunk solo to be the centerpiece of this artwork, and have a rather dark background to accentuates the cyberpunk bike and the character. Shortcoming do exist and i must admit them though, centering wasn’t that perfect, i should have came up with my own futuristic ideas, and the lightning is sub par, but for my first cyberpunk artwork, i say i shouldn’t be too harsh on myself, anyways i hope you liked it, go check out the full version for the crazy that is my imagination.</image:caption>

<image:title>Portfolio - Pokemon Surfing Pikachu</image:title>
<image:caption>This is straight forward to be honest, practically a rip off, i really liked the surfing Pikachu Pokemon card from the TCG (i still haven’t pulled it unfortunately) and wanted to create a bigger artwork with it while maintaining the original art style, the wave shape was made to somewhat resemble the great wave off Kanagawa, matter of fact on another Pokemon artwork that i made, titled Surfing Gengar, i drew my own version of both Gengar and the great wave off Kanagawa to create a similar artwork, i don’t know, maybe a part of me felt bad about my lack of originality in creating this Surfing Pikachu art and decided to make a Surfing Gengar Pokemon fan art, not to mention, it is a very cute artwork.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Mortys in Morty Town</image:title>
<image:caption>One of my personal favorites, in this Morty Town illustration i decided to go back to one of my favorite episodes from the show “Tales from the Citadel”, i always liked the concept of Morty Town, the Morty Town Locos, the different versions of Morty Smith, each from their own respective dimensions, the capitalist dystopia that was the Citadel of Ricks and i decided to take a scene from that episode and remake it on Procreate, while adding my own favorite personas and versions of Morty in the artwork, sort of a mashup of Mortys. The making of it didn’t go that smooth though, it started as a simple mashup with no background (which was rejected), and then i had to rethink my own composition and cut down a few Mortys that might have been a bit too much or i didn’t have enough space for them, like Fascist Morty and the unstoppable science fiction boy to name a few.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Rick and Morty Forever & Forever a 100 years</image:title>
<image:caption>Second version of this artwork that i finished during Season 4, the initial draft was similar but had no meeseeks, fart, or a random talking cat, just a few clouds and a number of stars, i decided it needed more so i ended up adding a few fan favorite characters like Fart the gaseous being from Mortynight Run, Mr.Meeseeks from Meeseeks & Destroy and the talking cat from Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim's Morty from Season 4. I always wanted to create some fan art revolving around Mr.Meeseeks and the Meeseeks Box, hopefully i’ll make even more in the future, there have been some good ideas popping in my head.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - The Old Man and the Seat</image:title>
<image:caption>The Old Man and The Seat from Season 4, a Rick and Morty episode with a reference to “the old man and the sea” novel, the episode had it’s moments, but what was truly breathtaking about it was the scene briefly shown at the start of the episode, where Rick Sanchez first visits the planet where his “special pooping place” exists, it was something that i had to capture and recreate in my own way, and the personal space text was just a reference to the Interdimensional Cable episode. I had a few other ideas like drawing him with the hat saying “king of shit”, drawing the scenery without Rick Sanchez, drawing the grass field only, and a few other ideas. In the end i felt this was the best way to capture the scenery portrayed in the episode.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Rise of the Snakes</image:title>
<image:caption>Inspired by another one of my favorite episodes from Rick and Morty Season 4, Rattlestar Ricklactica was a hilarious episode full of Terminator and Back to the Future references and i couldn’t pass on the opportunity of creating a straight out Rise of the Machines movie reference with a “Rise of the Snakes” design, unfortunately this is one of, if not the only, detailed artwork of mine that did not get licensed, not surprised as it’s referencing another IP too closely and would be a licensing nuisance. Or they could have simply not liked it, anyways, hope you like it, enjoy it while it collects digital dust on my computer’s hard drive.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Spacey</image:title>
<image:caption>I always wanted to create one of those galaxy artworks with Rick and Morty only as silhouettes, even though they were done to death so much. So here is my attempt, a bit subtle in my opinion, lacks aliens, some weird looking spaceships, and the odd planets. So, will i make an actual effort the next time i create a Rick and Morty space artwork? maybe, i still have to play with Marmoset Hexels 3, might decide to make something extremely outlandish with it, like imagine “square planets”, ingenious i know.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Rick and Morty on an Adventure</image:title>
<image:caption>An illustration i created using Procreate, it was the first Fan Art that i made with a certain style, a number of people liked the rough draft of this version, and it made me want to create a series of designs with the same style to see how far i can take it. This here is one of 2 final versions that i finished during Season 4 of Rick and Morty, you can tell by the random talking cat thrown into the artwork, why did i include it? well, don’t ask questions, just have fun.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Story Train</image:title>
<image:caption>A Rick and Morty artwork i made inspired by the Story Train from the Never Ricking Morty episode, it wasn’t one of the best episodes from season 4 but i did like the sense of capitalism in it /s I made 2 versions of this (well 4 really), one was a proper poster/advertisement for the Story Train so you can buy it and taste the true flavor of capitalism and one was to go with the series of circular designs that i have been doing for a while now, i also made black and white versions of both styles because why not.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Glorzo Magazine Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>In each season of the show i would do something different in terms of fan art, some i’d take a few things from the episodes and create an artwork around them, some i’d create one artwork per episode, and other were more complex. For Rick and Morty Season 4, i wanted to create an artwork per episode, i almost succeeded if not for a few extremely lame ones, like what was that dragon episode, alas, this Poster design is basically a remake of the cover of Glorzo Magazine from the episode Promortyus, i threw in a joke in the artwork while maintaining the “Glorzo is Peace” slogan.</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - The Vat of Acid Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>After watching the Vat of Acid episode from Rick and Morty Season 4 i had an idea of creating a poster for a fake Vat of Acid, the idea kept lingering for a while but i finally decided on doing it after the episode got nominated for an Emmy award, first i had to think of the right composition, take in details from the “features” mentioned by Rick Sanchez and then make up some nonsensical marketing text to go with the ridiculousness of the fake vat of acid. I got stuck in the composition the longest to be frank, but i am glad i wrapped it up, i swear Rick and Morty episodes are either hit or miss, some have amazing writing and some are just like …</image:caption>

<image:title>Rick and Morty - Poker Rick</image:title>
<image:caption>Many people have made Rick and Morty poker card designs, so i haven’t really reinvented the wheel here but i wanted to try my hand at them, the first version had Wubba Lubba dub-dub written next to the K, referencing Tiny Rick from the Big Trouble In Little Sanchez episode, i wanted to portray that Rick Sanchez was actually stuck inside the card and the Wubba Lubba dub dub was his way of telling everyone else that he was trapped in it and “in pain”. I removed it because well, it didn’t look that good, and my deep meaning behind creating the artwork fell flat as many people didn’t get the reference to begin with. I probably need to keep my Fan Art less “complex”.</image:caption>

Anyways, this here is one of a few Adventure Time artworks that have been officially licensed on my Redbubble and Teepublic shops, all of them have been made using the grid-based isometric drawing software called Marmoset Hexels and are, apparently, playing part in my early onset Alzheimer disease /s (just in case). I wanted to create an Isometric BMO, because well, i thought it would be easy and a good practice, i made a few artworks with him, a few were chaotic, one was referencing a scene from one of the episodes, and a few were just patterns like this BMO pattern from Adventure Time. Yes, i need more experience with patterns, i know, i also should make some non-isometric Adventure Time fan art when i have the time, the show is just so over the place with brand new stories every episode that i simply get choice paralysis, the creativity of the writers are unreal and i just can’t decide what to draw.</image:caption>

<image:title>Adventure Time - Death of BMO</image:title>
<image:caption>Can’t recall which season or episode from Adventure Time inspired this BMO fan art, but it was basically a scene where BMO got yeeted into water and after getting out he just took out his batteries and said “Goodbye”. To me that was pure comedy gold. I had made 2 versions of the same BMO artwork one with the Unplug text, representing going off the grid and relaxation (very fitting considering BMO literally means Be More) and one staying true to the “Goodbye” mentioned in Adventure Time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>An Adventure Time illustration of Finn The Human & Jake The Dog made in Marmoset Hexels 3, i basically recreated the scene where Finn says “i rather die than be imaginative”. This was in the very early stages of me trying out Hexels 3, it was like me trying to replicate a specific angle/perspective instead of creating my own while understanding and knowing my own limitations as well as the program’s. Rookie mistakes basically, i did like the end result of this Adventure Time Fan Art tho, otherwise i would have kept it in my “Hexels” folder, full with miserable attempts. I believe the versions with the text didn’t make the cut but the isometric Finn & Jake alone did, i can never understand Adventure Time licensing guidelines (or guidelines in general), it’s a literal quote from your own show.</image:caption>

Titlted Mayhem Zer0 it’s a compilation of many borderlands characters, enemies and places from the game franchise, the only exception in the artwork however was, Zer0 himself, as sort of an inside joke if you will. I started creating this for a borderlands art contest before the release of Borderlands 3, however, i couldn’t finish it in time, so i simply finished it after the contest closed, the characters used were from the entirety of the franchise, and i couldn’t take a lot from Borderlands 3 as the game wasn’t released yet, and i was going on based on whatever screenshots i had then.</image:caption>

<image:caption>One of my favorite characters was Zer0, and i wanted to create something sort of creative instead of just some regular character fan art, so i ended up with a big mashup of Borderlands characters, portraying the number Zer0 as shown on (you guessed it) Zer0’s Helmet. Some of my favorite parts of this design are Handsome Jack, the random Psycho, FL4K pets, Claptrap and the Helios moonbase orbiting above Pandora’s moon Elpis. I did plan to make more Borderlands 3 artworks, but i never gotten to it, probably because of how time consuming this was to make, Pyscho Krieg and the Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC is a prime idea though.</image:caption>

This was the minimalist version of my other Borderlands 3 poster design basically, i am trying to improve my minimalism in art, as i always have the belief in life that “less is more”, even though i always end up complicating or over complicating my own art and composition, i’ll get there one day.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Visit Artyom's Nightmare Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>I have always loved the Metro 2033 franchise, i even read all of the novels from Metro 2033 to Metro 2035, it kind of made the Metro 2033 game less pleasant as i noticed what was cut from the story, but alas, amazing franchise, and what’s even more amazing was the trailer for the Metro Exodus game, titled with the same title here, Artyom’s Nightmare. Now that trailer, i don’t even think calling it a trailer would give it justive, it was a piece of art, some deep psychological horror of story telling, i found out afterwards that the developers contracted a studio to create that trailer for them, but it doesn’t take away from it anything, matter of fact i even found out that the developers themselves loved the trailer as much as i loved it, justifiably so. So, the backstory behind this Metro Exodus Poster aside, how did i make it and what was my inspiration, the inspiration was straight out a scene from the trailer, with a boat going down the river and on it is Anna Miller holding a baby wearing a gas mask, you can’t make this shit up, so, i now have the idea for the composition and have to think about the art style i am going for, i decided i will make one of those “Visit x” designs that Mathiole one of my favorite artists always does, and not to complicate things i decided to only use 4-5 colors, make it simple/minimalist, i started with Anna from Metro Exodus and slapped a boat afterwards and then had to think of what color to use for the boat, how will i differentiate the boat color from the river color, not to mention the sky, it was a tedious task of test and error and quite the number of crazy lines and textures intertwining to get the feeling just right, i also tried to draw the waves/water instead of basically have a solid color with no detail as you can see here, but it didn’t look that good so i scratched it. I was aiming for as much Minimalism as i can, as part of my own journey on finding out a style that clicks with me. Story of my life aside, i hope you like this Artyom’s Nightmare poster of Metro Exodus.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The horror movie reference aside, this here is a version of my Gengar in Lavender Town Pokemon fan art, the 5 color version, it was initially made for screen printing, however, i ended up actually liking this more than the original, even though this looks like a watered down version of my Ghost of Lavender Town design, once again reinforcing to me that less is more when it comes to minimalism. I want to create more Pokemon artworks with this style, can never have enough of that evil Gengar smile, but then again maybe i should move on to the different types, this artwork relied on a single type and a location where that type is infamous for, it might be cool to do the same for the other Pokemon, like red and fire, green and grass, and keep each of them contained to a 5 color pallete like here, could turn out as an amazing series of Pokemon illustrations.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Something i made after feeling bad for making the Surfing Pikachu Pokemon artwork, i needed to reignite my own imagination and repent for my lack of originality, so i drew Gengar surfing on the great wave off kanagawa, in hindsight i probably should have changed even more, the sky color, the shape of the clouds, turn this into a horror story, rather than just Gengar having fun, but then again hindsight is 20/20. Also, how is Gengar, a ghost, surfing? so many questions, so little answers, running out of time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>At some point in life i wanted to create a series of original artworks with a common character between them, that character was supposed to be named the “smile”, an entity with no facial features or form rather than, well, this specific smile, after some time i realized i am just being an edgy teenager and decided not to continue the series, this was the third entry to it, the focus of this artwork was for me to create something original in the Cyberpunk genre. I had drawn inspirations from multiple things for this artwork, like Cyberpunk 2077, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Bladerunner and last but not least Ruiner, as you can tell by the “KILL YOU, KILL YOU” on the smile mask/face, it’s quite an underrated game in the Cyberpunk genre to be honest. My biggest obstacle in creating this artwork was the lighting, for instance the “smile” character was supposed to be basically a glitched appearance on a large screen behind the Solo character in this artwork, but i had to figure out how to implement that, if i make the screen too bright it would look bad, not to mention i have to emphasize the light scatter from the screen on the rest of the artwork, do i make the screen dim? what about the glitch effect? i tried glitching the cyberpunk smile character, but it just didn’t look good, so was the bright screen effect, so i just made a faintly lit and told myself “just don’t think about it”. It was something i should have probably figured out at composition stage rather than by the middle of the artwork, but i’ll get there eventually, practice makes perfect.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Astronaut Watching a Movie</image:title>
<image:caption>Also titled “Space Cinema”, it’s an artwork Inspired by the Stig eating popcorn meme from Top Gear, and well, another artwork by the artist Xision Wu, depicting an astronaut on the moon watching a movie while “eating” popcorn, hence where this astronaut watching a movie idea came from. Part of me wanted to have the background as some sort of galaxy, portraying he is actually in space or as if the entire cinema is detached and is in fact floating in space, however after some playing around i don’t think it would have turned out well, not with my current angle and composition anyways. It’s another artwork on my journey to grasp the true meaning of minimalism, hence the simple shading and details in this artwork, there is also a black and white version of this that looks quite unusual and i love it.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Dark Souls Stained Glass</image:title>
<image:caption>Something i made for a themed art challenge, the theme was “stained glass” and i was at a point in life where i really liked Dark Souls, like REALLY, i think i had just finished Dark Souls 3 and wanted to create some fan art for it, it’s an amazing game anyways. I was inspired by the eclipse at the end of the game where you fight the Soul of Cinder and had googled a bunch of stained glass artworks from churches and the such, so now i had a mirror/shape i can work with, and was a bit more familiar with the style, i made the eclipse to be the focus of the image and let me imagination run wild, Lothric Castle from Dark Souls 3 was made to be the background of this artwork, the clouds ended up being a crazy interweaving pattern, and the characters i ended up adding were the Ashen One portrayed on the cover of the Dark Souls 3 game, the Fire Keeper from the Firelink Shrine in Dark Souls 3, and lastly my boy Knight Artorias the Abysswalker from the first Dark Souls game, figuring out how to draw them while maintaining the stained glass style was the hardest thing to do in this artwork. I eventually made 2 versions, a rough colored version with a bunch of grunge effects to mimic an authentic stained glass feel, and just a smooth black and white version shown here, the black and white version looks much cooler in my opinion.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - The Hall of Masks - Hollow Knight</image:title>
<image:caption>The second artwork of my Hollow Knight fan art, inspired by the Hall of Faces from Game of Thrones, and well, the fact there is no shortage of masks in Hollow Knight. When creating this, i simply remembered the stone walls from the Game of Thrones show where they keep all the “faces”, and decided to recreate them with some insect patterns and shapes from within the game, i also felt it was missing something so i created a stone statue of The Radiance Moth from Hollow Knight as part of the same wall stone contraption that holds those Hollow Knight masks, now i did ask myself why do they even wear masks but i will not question the lore of the Mask Maker. After deciding the composition for this Hollow Knight artwork, i needed to decide what Hollow Knight Masks will i put in the artwork, the protagonist, the literal hollow knight was a given and so were Hornet, but after that it was just to my own preference really, Nosk made the cut because he was a literal son of a bitch, the Primal Aspids due to them being the enemy i died to the most, the Pure Vessel because that’s a very cool looking mask, the guy has his own statue in the City of Tears, Troupe Master Grimm because that was a nice DLC, Zote The Mighty for being a meme, and the rest were just to fill space like the Elderbug and Iselda. Hollow Knight at the end of the day is a great game and i can not wait for Hollow Knight Silksong, i might do more fan art of the game when i have time, i do need good ideas though.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - The Name is Archer</image:title>
<image:caption>Sterling Archer. I made this after watching literally every season from the Archer TV Show, and then realizing nobody, and i man nobody, made a James Bond crossover with Sterling Archer, i was extremely confused to be honest. two secret spies, one is serious, one is basically making fun of the other, the similarities are immense, and the fact nobody cared enough to do this mashup ended up in me doing it. It’s a very simple concept anyways. I thought about many different poses of Archer, some mimicking the intro of James Bond with him aiming his gun at the spectator, and some are just different poses from the Archer show itself, eventually i settled down to Archer holding a gun and an alcohol flask, as it’s very fitting for the character of Sterling Archer, i also threw in “Danger Zone” next to the gun as an inside joke.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Rapture Radio Bioshock Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>Rapture Radio, a Bioshock poster design, it has to be mentioned that the Bioshock franchise is one of my favorite game franchises of all time, i am a huge deep sea/marine biology nerd, and the prospect of a city underwater, not to mention set in the 60s or 70s is something extremely intriguing for me, i was an immediate fan of the setting. So, fast forward a few years, i already played the games countless amount of times, and finally decided to play them again, however, this time, i will take something from each game and draw it, whether it was a poster, a scene, a specific moment, or even a feeling. Ok, my own pretentiousness aside, this is just the aforementioned, it’s a Bioshock poster from the first Bioshock game, depicting Rapture Radio, they had decent music, just open Spotify and check out the Bioshock Radio playlist. I made many other Bioshock poster designs and fan art, however most were simply done as practice, just for fun, or are simple shirt designs, i didn’t feel the need to put them on the site, you can however take a look at them on my online stores, my personal favorites are my recreation of the “Evolve Today” slogan with the usage of the plasmids as part of the design.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Franklin Booth X Darth Vader</image:title>
<image:caption>There was a themed art challenge with the theme being Pantone colors of the year, for the year 2021, those were Illuminating and Ultimate Gray, combined with the fact that i was already working on a Retro/Vintage art challenge i decided to mix the two. So here i am, trying to make some pop culture art using 2 colors and in a vintage style, and what’s trending these days is The Mandalorian and Star Wars in general, so i took inspirations from one of my favorite ink artists Franklin Booth and used one of his drawings to try and learn from the master. The Drawing i used was an artwork depicting soldiers going to war with the shadow of the Grim Reaper portrayed on the clouds, with the composition of what i had to draw being obviously clear cut after seeing that, Grim Reaper = Darth Vader, and soldiers = Stormtroopers, all i had to figure out was, how to draw lines like Franklin Booth, someone who is a master of his craft, after some pondering, and a bit of tinkering, i realized that this master study is almost impossible in my time frame, the lines are too clean and my skill is inadequate, not if i want to Franklin Booth justice. So, i just went with it, i knew i could never match the skills nor the proficiency, but at the very least i will try to match the general feel of the style, try my best at mimicking his composition, and i was not happy with end result to be honest, but with the time frame i had, it was probably the best i could do. I kept the usage of the “Illuminating” pantone color to a minimum and used it to accentuate the random Darth Vader in the sky, i added some dark grunge effect as a background for contrast and tried to portray a feel of grandeur from Darth Vader, rather than fear. For the Stormtroopers, it was a bit tricky, i felt like it was hard for me to properly draw them with the style i started the artwork with, i just couldn’t figure out a way for me to make them properly noticeable, especially with the angle i was going with as i had to draw them from the rear view. In the end i just made a rough sketch of them, worked on the contrast and lighting for a bit, and tried to forget this ever happened. With that being said, that was the end of me trying to create Star Wars fan art, the franchise have enough fans and better artists than me to be frank, it was a good experience at a vintage style nevertheless.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Riff N' Tear - Doom Eternal Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>You guessed it, another artwork, another themed challenge, i should really stop doing these and just draw whatever comes to mind, i don’t know, it could be my usual artist block or lack of imagination that leads me eventually to be motivated whenever a theme exists. For this artwork the theme was fake band names, there were a few ideas, however i recall seeing a Reddit post on how there was a guitar in the game, multiple ones actually, so i decided to use Doomguy the Crucible guitar and a random balrog in the background as my composition for this next design. The name for the band was a community effort to be honest, as i asked a bunch of fans what could be a good name, i got plenty of good ones but eventually settled on Riff N’ Tear as a reference to the infamous Rip & Tear slogan the game franchise is known for. The Doomguy blasting his guitar on top of a mountain of bones was actually inspired by one of Doom Eternal official wallpapers, where Doomguy is just standing on a mountain of corpses with his sword out, yes i know how that sounds as i write it. With that out of the way i kind of felt the artwork, or is it a poster? it’s a fake band no? never mind it is a poster, i felt the Doom Eternal fake band poster need something more, the Riff N’ Tear text by itself with what i had so far didn’t look that good, so i decided to add some demonic figure at the back or as a silhouette, for that i decided to use one of my favorite demons in media, the Balrog from Lord of the Rings. To be honest i didn’t think many people would realize that i used it, but a number of people caught the reference right away, in this so called fake Doom band poster.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - IMPOSTOR Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>My second attempt at creating minimal posters using the Obama Hope poster style, it’s a mouthful, but i am not sure if it has an actual name, in this one i just used a trendy topic at the time, and that was the game Among Us, i never got into the game myself, it is great for meme content and looks fun, but i don’t have many gamer friends to be honest, most of them are a bunch of 20 years old boomers. I suppose that’s what happens when you become a doctor, most of our colleagues were rendered lifeless zombies by the time of our graduation. I had multiple ideas for this Among Us Impostor poster, i had to decide if i should draw the humans with my own style or use the minimalism the game itself has to create this artwork, to save myself some time, and to stay authentic to the game, i just went with the art style the game already has. There is even an added joke that i am not even sure anyone can read written below the “impostor” text, it says “red was not an impostor”, referencing how the red crew mate was always the suspicious one in the meme lore, now the question i leave you guys with is what is the color of the “character” i drew in this Among Us Impostor poster, and what does all of this really mean. I know, the plot thickens.</image:caption>

<image:title>Random - Tallneck Poster</image:title>
<image:caption>Some fan art i made for the game Horizon Zero Dawn, a rather simple design implementing silhouettes and double exposures. Tallneck is my favorite creature/machine design of the bunch and i wanted to draw Tallneck in a minimalistic way as that seems to be my current trend, the general shape was fairly easy to draw, but then it felt like it needed something, so i decided to make it a double exposure artwork, it was tricky at first because of how longitudinal the whole thing is and the lack of space to draw the silhouettes in a meaningful way, however, in the end i did manage to fit in some characters and machines from Horizon Zero Dawn. The machines that made the cut from Horizon Zero Dawn are: Tallneck, Behemoth, Watcher, Sawtooth, Glinthawk, Longleg and Corruptor. Obviously Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn is also in it, as why wouldn’t she be, i hope you like this Tallneck poster design.</image:caption>

<image:caption>An overused meme, but not an overdone design, referencing the game Ghost of Tsushima and attempting to be a play of words, this Sushi Samurai design was inspired by the numerous Ghost of Sashimi memes, now you might be wondering why is titled Sushi instead of Sashimi? Because it sounds better, what i drew isn’t even Sushi, not even Sashimi, it’s Nigiri (I am not an uncultured swine). It was also a great excuse for me to draw some Japanese food, i love eating Sushi and i couldn’t let the opportunity of drawing a piece of Sushi (technically Nigiri) as a Samurai slip away. The ghost replacing the rice was just convenient, i would have preferred making proper Ghost of Tsushima Fan Art instead of memes, but i still have to play the game (curse you console exclusives).</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Alien (Self) Isolation</image:title>
<image:caption>A reference to the game, a meme in itself, and something i created mid the COVID-19 pandemic, i wanted to make a quarantine/pandemic meme design, but knowing my inclinations and how much i like games, i was destined to create some weird stuff. So here we have an Xenomorph self isolating during COVID-19 and watching Netflix, a WIP version of this design even featured Facehugger N95 masks (FC95 for short). I didn’t even stop there as i was going deep with the memes, had things like “the mask provides protection against COVID-19 and jumps at any humans that comes within the vicinity of the wearer” written on it, it was an invincible mask design, protects vs COVID-19 and humans, also had a bowl of alien Xenomorph eggs on the table, some might call it cannibalism, i prefer to call them snacks. The reference to the Alien Isolation game was just convenient, here i am making some self isolation and quarantine memes, and we have a game from the Alien franchise named, literally, Alien Isolation, couldn’t be more perfect. In hindsight i should have called this Netflix and Kill, but then again the Xenomorph is isolating more than hunting.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A rough sketch i made as a meme inspired by a baby rick meme, born from a discussion with one of the redditors on how a crossover between baby yoda and the baby rick from tales from the citadel episode would look like. Shockingly (not) this quick sketch that took me less than an hour to make was more popular than any of my Rick and Morty artworks that i spent days on, that just shows you how many degenerates and uncultured swines surf Reddit, obviously i say that as a joke, as i also use the platform a lot, it has to be said though, if you want to discuss anything meaningful there are better platforms out there, if you want to shitpost, Reddit is your home. It says a lot about me i know, i have always been a Ledditor at heart. So yeah, long story short, it’s just a mashup of cloned Rick Sanchez as a baby and The Child Grogu (also known as Baby Yoda) from The Mandalorian, holding a cup.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Inspired by the “peace was never an option” memes and the fact that Untitled Goose Game was a “stealth” game. I decided to take the meme up a notch and have a Metal Gear Solid X Untitled Goose Game parody, the knife is straight from the game and i just added some extra touches to create the character known here as “Solid Goose”, Solid Snake’s favorite pet. I was a little bit sad to realize i was not the first to come up with the idea at the time, but nevertheless, the Metal Goose Solid logo was not done yet at least, even if the goose wearing a bandanna and an eye patch was. I love this Metal Goose Solid artwork because i am trying to develop a minimalist style of my own, and the entire Untitled Goose Game was based around minimalism, simply convenient i guess.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Corona Man - a PAC-MAN Parody</image:title>
<image:caption>A practical rip-off of Pac-Man (or Pacman) but with a modern take, something i decided to create in the middle of quarantine here in Saudi Arabia as they started issuing curfews at night and i ended up sitting at home with no clear goal or purpose, succumbing to my own personal hell of nothingness, left to my own devices, stuck in a vicious cycle, a limbo, an inactivity that lingered for far too long in the middle of 2020 as the Pandemic dragged and the quarantine felt endless, it truly felt like Covid-19 has devoured the entire year. Now when anybody asks me what i did or accomplished throughout that year, i am just left with emptiness and silence, even attempting to answer that questions just fills me with despair and anguish, a seriously depressing feeling, and that’s where this mashup or parody came from, a little virus devouring an entire year of our lives, it didn’t help that i had just graduated and was planning to continue my education abroad either, the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19) put a stop to all of those plans and what the virus didn’t stop my resulting depression from the pandemic took care of the rest. Long depressing story short, we have a Pac-Man (Pacman) parody, with Covid-19 as Pac-Man and the numbers of the year 2020 as the ghosts. Another parody i made was Among Us and Pac-Man with Pacman as the impostor and the ghosts as, well, the ghosts of the crew mates after getting killed; I didn’t want to include both to avoid being redundant.</image:caption>

Obviously inspired by the 1966 Batman theme song that goes “na na na na na na na na na na na na na batman” (yes, they are repeated 13 times), i frankly enjoy the cartoon TV shows and comics more than the movies, regardless of how good some of the movies are, Hollywood never fails to be generic. I want to create more comic styled artworks, but that requires me a lot of binge watching and research, i’ll get to it eventually but for now it’s just memes.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Charizard vs The Cooler Charizard</image:title>
<image:caption>Referencing a meme known as “The Cooler Daniel”. Charizard vs his cooler counterpart the shiny Charizard, is an attempt of mine at being funny, i had just gotten back into collecting Pokemon cards and it was inevitable for me to come up with some stupid ideas. The GameBoy Advance games (especially Emerald) were my favorites, and even today i play ROM hacks of them more than any of the official games, the Pokemon company and GameFreak are simply out of touch. The Pixel art hits differently and the interface is a classic, don’t fix what is not broken. Okay getting sidetracked again, so here i am collecting again for the first time in 15 years, playing my GBA ROM hacks and realizing how much hype there is behind “shiny” pokemon. Now as a kid i don’t recall encountering shiny Pokemon, even if i did i wouldn’t remember it, i probably would have thought it was a glitch, and that is how this Pokemon meme was born, in my new enlightenment of what the hell a shiny Pokemon is and how many people like to catch them over their normal counterpart. TL;DR it’s a Charizard artwork and a Shiny Charizard meme, using The Cooler Daniel meme as a reference.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Guts Dragon Slayer Sword - Berserk</image:title>
<image:caption>That thing, it was too THICC to be called a sword. I made this Berserk fan art (more like meme) after binge reading the manga from start to end, in doing so, it daunted me how many times they referenced the sword as a big chunk of iron and how hilarious that was, at first it was alright, hardly anything remarkable, but with each mention, it became funnier and funnier. “That thing was too big to be called a sword”, can’t take that line serious anymore, it’s now a Berserk meme for me, not a Berserk reference. Unfortunately as of writing this, the legendary Berserk author Kentaro Miura has passed away, leaving his legacy behind he will never be forgotten as an inspiration for so many people and games (Dark Souls). We might never get closure for Berserk and Guts’ story, but it will continue to be one of the greatest dark fantasies of all time. I will make a proper Miura tribute in the future, but for now all i have is a Berserk dragon slayer sword meme.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Forever Alone Billy the Puppet - SAW</image:title>
<image:caption>A gamer meme more than any gamer meme in history, the prospect of wanting to play a game, but having no friends to play said games with. Illustrated with Billy wanting to play a game, followed by the shocking revelation of an empty friends list on Steam, combined with the meme of Pablo Escobar waiting alone at a park, but portrayed as Billy the Puppet (well, someone wearing his mask to be precise). I know what you are thinking, Zody, how did you come up with such big brain level of memery, frankly, even i am shocked by my own ingenious, it is almost frightening. Memes aside, it’s a forever alone meme using Billy the Puppet and the movie SAW as a reference, combined with the Pablo Escobar Waiting meme, of course, all of it is drawn on Procreate, as i take great pride in my meme making, i used to be good at it when i had time.</image:caption>

<image:title>Memes - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?</image:title>
<image:caption>Inspired by the novel that i still have to read “do androids dream of electric sheep?” by Philip K. Dick. And well, the fact that i fail to come up with anything remotely original. Here we have Bender from Futurama counting Mareep Pokemon while sleeping, because that’s what my mind thinks of when it reads androids and electric sheep in one sentence, a drunk robot and a sheep Pokemon. My mind has issues. I believe i first came across this idea while researching the origin of the Cyberpunk genre, and the name of the book was uncanny enough for me to turn it into a meme, so, do androids dream of electric Mareeps? we will have to ask Bender that.</image:caption>
